230 Million Nigerians will send APC home in 2027 — El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufa’i, has declared that the wave of defections by governors ahead of the 2027 elections will not stop Nigerians from electing the leaders they truly want.

Speaking on Wednesday during the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Contact and Mobilization Office in Jos, El-Rufa’i, a chieftain of the party, said while governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are moving to the All Progressives Congress (APC), ordinary Nigerians are shifting their support to the ADC.

He expressed strong confidence that the ADC has the capacity to unite Plateau State, and the entire country, if entrusted with leadership in 2027.

According to him, although the country is facing tough challenges, there is still hope for a better future with the right leadership.

El-Rufa’i recalled his long personal connection to Jos, noting how frequently he visited the city 40 years ago.

He lamented the decline in peace and development, saying Plateau State can return to its glory as “the Home of Peace and Tourism” with committed leadership at both state and national levels.

He stressed that Nigerians have lost confidence in both the APC and PDP and are seeking a credible alternative. He vowed that with the support of citizens, the ADC would defeat the ruling APC in the next general elections.

“I know everyone is tired of this APC and PDP government across the country. Governors from PDP are defecting to APC but Nigerians are defecting to ADC.

By God’s grace, 230 million Nigerians will defeat 25 governors,” he said, insisting that Nigerians have already decided to vote for the ADC in 2027.

He urged party members to unite, choose credible candidates, and promote policies that will benefit all Nigerians, highlighting that the ADC reserves 40% of its leadership positions for the youth and 35% for women.

Plateau State Coordinator of the ADC Contact and Mobilisation, Hon. Jamilu Lawandi Datti, also spoke at the event, lamenting the rising unemployment among youths, worsening insecurity, and the poor state of education and healthcare, especially in rural areas.

He called on the youth to rally behind the party for meaningful change.
