For insulting Gov Okpebholo, his children, you have been banned from Edo, boys will use slap to remove your teeth if you come – Gov aide dares Davido

Apostle Kassy Chukwu, the Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo on Digital Media, has issued a threat against Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, following comments attributed to the musician about the governor and his children.

Chukwu made the remarks in a video circulating online, accusing Davido of disrespecting Governor Okpebholo and warning the singer against repeating what he described as offensive comments.

The governor’s aide also claimed that Davido had been banned from performing in Edo State for the remainder of the present administration.

“I’m going to say, shameful Davido, now you go ahead and start saying his children should be ashamed of their father. Now, I’m going to tell you now, the next time you’re going to repeat that statement, I’ll tell you something that will make you sue me,” Chukwu said.

He accused the singer of failing to show respect for elders and declared that he would no longer be welcomed to perform in the state.

“As your papa no bring up to respect your elders Davido, I want to tell you, you have been banned from coming to Edo State to perform,” he said.

Chukwu added that the state did not want Davido to return during the remaining years of the administration.

“We no want to see you for Edo again, Davido. Since you dey insult the governor children, dey insult the governor of the list state, the remaining six years plus for this government, we no want to see you,” he said.

Aide Warns of Possible Physical Attack

The governor’s aide further warned Davido against returning to Edo, alleging that youths could confront the singer if he was spotted in the state.

“If we catch you, if we see you for airports, go tell boys make them use slap take remove your teeth for you,” Chukwu said.

The comment has raised concerns because of its apparent call for physical confrontation against the singer.

Chukwu also criticised Davido’s associate, Israel DMW, accusing him of encouraging the singer to speak against the governor.

He further dismissed some election results reportedly shared by Davido online as “AI-generated results” and warned the singer to be cautious about the statements he makes.

Chukwu Invokes Edo Youths

The governor’s aide claimed that some youths in the state were angered by Davido’s alleged comments.

“Not to say they don’t tell you, ‘Hey, Edo youths are angry.’ They say, ‘If they catch you again,’” he said.

He also called on individuals and organisations in Edo State not to invite Davido to perform.

“Nobody should bring Davido to come and perform in any place again in Edo State. They say, ‘They don’t need you if you come,’” Chukwu added.

The aide also accused Davido of associating with individuals he described as cultists and claimed that Governor Okpebholo does not tolerate such groups.

“Davido, we don’t want to see you for Edo here again because the governor of this state no dey harbour cultists. You hear me? So if you come, what you see? You go bear am,” he said.

Chukwu ended the video with another disparaging remark directed at the singer.

The remarks have generated attention amid an ongoing public disagreement between Davido and supporters of the Edo State governor.
