Prof. Badejo to take over as LASU VC September 20

Professor Ayodeji Badejo will officially assume office as the new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU) on September 20.

The university’s Deputy Registrar and Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations, Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, announced this on Wednesday evening.

Badejo, a professor of guidance and counselling, will take over from Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure as vice-chancellor will end with her retirement.

His assumption of office will mark the beginning of a new administration at the university following the completion of Olatunji-Bello’s tenure.

She said the appointment was in accordance with the provisions of LASU Law, 2004, as amended.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Lagos State Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu appointed Badejo the new Vice-Chancellor of LASU.

The appointment is contained in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, Badejo was born on Aug. 4, 1962.

She obtained her PhD in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos.

She also holds a Master of Education in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos. (NAN)
