Former Delta State Governor and Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election, Ifeanyi Okowa, has revealed that he knew the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would lose the election even while serving as the party’s vice-presidential candidate.
Okowa made the disclosure at a recent political gathering while speaking ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, despite being part of the PDP presidential campaign team in 2023, he had already sensed that the party was heading for defeat.
His revelation has stirred fresh discussions about the internal calculations, challenges and expectations within the PDP during the 2023 presidential contest.
Okowa’s comments come as opposition politicians intensify preparations and strategic discussions ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
