Presidency tackles Atiku over economic policy, questions his qualifications
The Presidency has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), over his economic policy.
The Presidency also claimed that Atiku’s only qualification before he joined the Nigerian Customs Service was as a sanitary inspector.
Bayo Onanuga, Senior Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, made the remarks in a post on his verified X handle.
Onanuga expressed wonder about what Atiku knows about economics.
According to him, Atiku’s only qualification before joining Customs was as a sanitary inspector, adding that he knows nothing about economics.
The statement was made in reaction to Atiku’s recent comments on the economy.
The Presidency said Tinubu’s economic reforms were working and Atiku should not distract Nigerians.
“You know nothing about economics. Atiku Abubakar’s only qualification before joining the Nigerian Customs was as a sanitary inspector. You wonder what he knows about economics,” Onanuga wrote.
