England captain Harry Kane has signed a new contract with Bayern Munich, extending his stay at the German Bundesliga champions until 2029.

The 33-year-old striker was previously entering the final year of his four-year contract, which he signed after completing an £86 million transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.

Kane has enjoyed an impressive spell at Bayern, scoring a club-record 61 goals in 51 matches last season as the German giants secured a league and cup double.

As reported by Very Nigerian on Thursday, speaking after signing the new deal, Kane expressed his happiness at remaining with the Bundesliga giants.

“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” he said.

“We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.

“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”

Kane scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for England and Bayern during the 2025-26 campaign and was crowned the world’s best male player at the Ballon d’Or ceremony last month.

He has also registered 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga appearances, winning three consecutive Golden Boot awards and two league titles.

Since arriving in Germany, Kane has scored 156 goals in 161 matches for Bayern, while collecting five major trophies and several individual honours, including the Bundesliga Player of the Season award for 2024-25.

The England skipper has also continued to strengthen his international legacy. He is England’s all-time leading goalscorer, with 73 goals in 65 appearances, and has equalled Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps.

At this summer’s World Cup, Kane scored six goals to become England’s leading goalscorer in the competition’s history, with 14 goals in 18 appearances.

Kane joined Bayern in 2023 determined to prove himself at the highest level after years of individual success without a major trophy at club or international level.
