The Senate has commenced the screening of retired Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, following his nomination by President Bola Tinubu to serve as the new Minister of Defence.
If the lawmakers confirm him, Musa will take over from former defence minister Mohammed Badaru, who resigned from the position.
Very Nigerian recalls that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday nominated Musa as Minister of Defense.
Musa served as Chief of Defence Staff from 2023 until October 2025. He won the Colin Powell Award for Soldiering in 2012.
