The African Democratic Congress has released an updated schedule for its 2026 primary elections alongside revised nomination fees following consultations with stakeholders, aspirants, and party leaders nationwide.

According to the announcement, the purchase and submission of completed nomination forms will now run from May 6 to May 13, 2026, with May 13 set as the final deadline for submissions.

The party stated that screening of aspirants will hold on May 14 and May 15, while the publication of screening results is scheduled for May 17. Appeals arising from the exercise will be heard between May 18 and May 19, with the final list of cleared aspirants expected on May 20.

Primary elections for State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Senate are slated for May 21, followed by governorship primaries on May 22, and the presidential primary on May 23, 2026.

The party’s National Executive Committee meeting is scheduled for May 25, while the Special National Convention will hold on May 26 to ratify outcomes.

In the revised fee structure, the ADC fixed the presidential nomination form at ₦90 million, governorship at ₦30 million, Senate at ₦10 million, House of Representatives at ₦5 million, and State Houses of Assembly at ₦2 million.

The party also maintained its discount policy, offering a 50 percent reduction for youths aged 18 to 35, and a 25 percent discount for women and persons with disabilities.

Signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the adjustments were aimed at strengthening internal democracy, improving accessibility, and ensuring credible participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
