Bandits planning to launch deadly attacks on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway — Primate Ayodele releases new prophecy
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that bandits could attempt to block the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in either July or August, urging security agencies to remain vigilant.
Ayodele made the remark during a Sunday service at the church’s headquarters. A video of his comments was later shared on his official TikTok account.
“Lagos-Ibadan Express Road. July or August, I do not know the exact time. Bandits will block the road. They will block the road. Security agencies should take note,” the cleric said.
The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway is one of Nigeria’s busiest highways, linking Lagos with several South-West states and serving as a major route to the northern part of the country.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Federal Government had issued any official security advisory or response regarding the warning.
Ayodele’s comments come amid continued concerns over insecurity across the country. The cleric recently criticised the Federal Government over the security situation, accusing it of failing to adequately protect the lives and property of Nigerians.
His latest warning also follows the recent abduction of dozens of pupils and teachers by suspected bandits during coordinated attacks on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, an incident that has heightened concerns over the spread of kidnapping and banditry into parts of the South-West.
