BREAKING: APC unveils 73-Man Committee for 2026 Convention, names Uzodimma chairman
The committee is tasked with coordinating the APC National Convention scheduled for March 2026, ensuring representation from all states and key party stakeholders.
Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, has been appointed chairman of the 73-member Central Coordination Committee for the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention scheduled to hold in March 2026.
The appointment places Uzodimma at the centre of preparations for the ruling party’s convention, which is expected to bring together party leaders, elected officials and delegates from across the federation.
He will be assisted by Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who was named Vice Chairman of the committee, while Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, will serve as Secretary.
The committee draws its membership from serving governors, former governors, ranking federal lawmakers, party elders and other key stakeholders within the APC.
Among the governors listed as members are Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Babagana Zulum of Borno, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Dikko Radda of Katsina, Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Ahmed Ododo of Kogi, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, Mohammed Bago of Niger, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers, Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto, Agbu Kefas of Taraba and AbdulAzeez Yari of Zamfara.
Also on the committee are several former governors and senior party figures, including Chief Bisi Akande, Adams Oshiomhole, Abdullahi Adamu, Abdullahi Ganduje, Aminu Bello Masari, Ovie Omo-Agege, and Atiku Bagudu.
Top-ranking federal lawmakers listed as members include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and other serving and former presiding officers of the National Assembly.
The committee also features former Speakers of the House of Representatives, including Patricia Etteh, Dimeji Bankole, Yakubu Dogara and Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside serving members of the House of Representatives.
The inclusion of party elders, governors, lawmakers and technocrats underscores the strategic importance attached to the 2026 APC National Convention, which is expected to shape the party’s leadership structure and political direction ahead of future electoral contests.
