BREAKING: Eliminate terrorists within 90 days or resign – Adeboye to service chiefs

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has urged Nigeria’s security chiefs to eliminate terrorists within 90 days or resign from office.

Speaking in a video shared on the church’s social media platform, Adeboye called on the Federal Government to take decisive action against insecurity, insisting that security agencies must be held accountable for results.

“If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say quietly to our government, move fast. And tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days, or resign,” he said.

The cleric noted that religious leaders can only advise political leaders, stressing that the responsibility for implementation rests with the Commander-in-Chief.

Adeboye recalled giving similar advice to former President Muhammadu Buhari during his administration’s fight against insurgency. According to him, Buhari issued a directive to security chiefs but failed to enforce consequences after the deadline expired.

“He ran with that advice, but he didn’t follow it through. Because he gave the order as the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The three months went, and the work was not done,” Adeboye said.

The RCCG leader further urged the government to go beyond targeting terrorists and focus on dismantling the networks financing and supporting criminal activities.

“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, we should make it clear to them that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists, they should eliminate their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” he added.

Adeboye’s remarks come amid growing concerns over insecurity across Nigeria, including recent kidnappings, attacks on communities and the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in parts of the country.

His comments have already sparked reactions as calls intensify for stronger measures to tackle terrorism, banditry and kidnapping nationwide.
