BREAKING: Kwankwaso visits Gov Makinde in Ibadan amid 2027 political moves
Kwankwaso was accompanied by political allies and associates as he arrived for the meeting with Governor Makinde.
Former Kano State governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Tuesday visited Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde at the Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.
Kwankwaso arrived at the governor’s office accompanied by political associates and close allies, where he was received by Makinde before both leaders proceeded into a private meeting.
The purpose of the visit had not been officially disclosed as of the time of filing this report.
However, sources said the two political heavyweights are currently holding talks behind closed doors, fuelling speculations that the meeting may be linked to emerging political alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The high-level engagement between the NNPP leader and the Oyo governor comes amid ongoing consultations among major political actors across the country as preparations gradually begin for the next election cycle.
Details of the meeting are expected to emerge later.
