Businessman, three suspected bandits nabbed in Kwara
A businessman, Alhaji Isiaka Fatai Onisowo, has reportedly been arrested by joint security operatives over alleged connections with armed bandits in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, Very Nigerian reports.
Onisowo, who is based in Kaiama and deals in new motorcycles, was said to have been apprehended alongside three other suspected bandits around 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
The operation was carried out by a joint patrol team comprising personnel of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the police, and the Department of State Services (DSS).
Security sources disclosed that the suspect was tracked before his arrest, alleging that he had links to terrorist activities. “Alhaji Isiaka Fatai Onisowo was tracked and linked to having connections with terrorists,” the source said.
“They are in Army custody, Kaiama LGA, undergoing interrogation,” the source revealed.
The identities of the three other suspected bandits could, however, not be obtained at the time of this report.
