The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has received a financial donation from the NUJ FCTA Chapel in support of its ongoing Multipurpose Congress Hall construction project.

The contribution makes the FCTA Chapel the first chapel under the council to officially support the project with a financial donation.

The donation was presented during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the FCTA Chapel to the NUJ FCT Council Secretariat.

The delegation was led by the Chapel Chairperson, Ngozi Ufomba. Other members included Vice Chairman Hassan Sadiq, Secretary Niyi Lawal, and Press Week Secretary Odugbo Sarah.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of Council, the Vice Chairman Comrade Yahaya Ndambabo expressed appreciation for the FCTA Chapel’s initiative.

Comrade Yahya praised the chapel’s leadership for what he described as a well-considered and strategic decision, noting that the donation would be formally recorded and that the chapel’s decision to collectively see that the building moves to the next stage is a sign of responsibility.

Comrade Ndambabo used the Occassion to appeal to members to see the union as thier own by esnuring they contribute their quota to the development of the media community and Nigeria as a whole

The Multipurpose Congress Hall project, which had its groundbreaking ceremony at the council’s one-year anniversary last year and began construction earlier this year, has continued to attract considerable attention and goodwill.

Comrade Ndambabo said the project has progressed with a level of commitment and visibility rarely seen in similar initiatives, crediting Chairman Comrade Grace Ike’s personal drive to deliver a functional congress facility before the end of her first term.

The NUJ FCT Council is expected to issue a formal written appreciation to the FCTA Chapel
