NUJ FCT Chair Grace Ike honored with Humanitarian Service Award at All Saints Anglican Church
The atmosphere at All Saints Church was filled with appreciation and celebration during the morning service as the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, was presented with the 2026 Humanitarian and Service Award by the church’s Laity Council.
The recognition was given in honour of her contributions to humanitarian service and leadership.
Responding to the award, Comrade Ike expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for the opportunity to serve humanity and the journalism profession.
She dedicated the honour to God and to all members of the NUJ FCT Council, acknowledging their support and commitment.
In an interview, she thanked the organisers for recognising her work and for “fishing her out” despite her distance, stressing that she does not take the recognition lightly.
“It’s not just an award, it’s an invitation to do more,” Comrade Ike said.
“I pledge to continue serving humanity and advancing the cause of journalism with humility and dedication, through the help of God.”
The accolade further cements a growing list of recognitions awarded to Comrade Ike for her professional excellence in journalism and her humanitarian efforts.
The physical award was received on her behalf by the council’s auditor, Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega.
