Core Northern States may betray you in 2027 – Primate Ayodele sounds warning to Tinubu
The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary of internal betrayals within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as preparations for the 2027 presidential election gather momentum.
In a statement issued through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric warned that not all APC governors are fully aligned with the president’s second-term ambition, describing some as being “one leg in and one leg out.”
Ayodele specifically highlighted several northern states where Tinubu may face political resistance and possible betrayal if strategic efforts are not intensified.
According to him, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Benue could prove challenging battlegrounds for the president.
He stressed that securing victory in these states would require significant political groundwork, noting that the opposition is already gaining traction across parts of the North.
The cleric, however, identified Taraba, Niger, Sokoto, and Borno as key states that could remain favourable to the president if properly managed.
He urged Tinubu not to take the support of these states and their governors for granted, emphasising their importance to his re-election bid.
Ayodele further claimed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is actively building alliances in the North, suggesting that ongoing political manoeuvres could reshape the contest ahead of 2027.
The warning comes amid growing political realignments and behind-the-scenes consultations among key actors as the race for the next general election gradually takes shape.
