Court orders forfeiture of $13 Million linked to Aisha Achimugu’s oil and gas firm

A Federal High Court has ordered the final forfeiture of $13 million linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu and her company, Oceangate Engineering Oil & Gas Ltd.

Presiding Judge Emeka Nwite ruled on Wednesday that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully proved that the funds were proceeds of fraud.

The EFCC had presented evidence linking the money to illicit activities, prompting the court to issue the forfeiture order.

Further details on the case and the mechanisms for recovering the funds are expected to be released in subsequent reports.
