Falconets outclass Ghana 3-1 in WAFU B Women’s Cup opener

Nigeria’s Falconets kicked off their WAFU B Women’s Cup campaign in style, defeating Ghana’s Black Princesses 3-1 on Saturday.
Janet Akeremkowei was the standout performer, scoring twice, while Favour Nkwocha sealed the victory for Nigeria.
Akeremkowei opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 40th minute before doubling the lead just before halftime.
Ghana’s Sarah Nyarko pulled one back four minutes into the second half, but Nkwocha’s late strike in the 88th minute secured the win for the Falconets.

The victory puts Nigeria in a strong position ahead of their next fixture against the Young Amazons of Benin Republic on Sunday morning.
