Flamingos crush Togo 4-0 to clinch 2026 WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup title
The victory sealed Nigeria’s fifth consecutive win of the tournament and capped a dominant campaign characterised by attacking efficiency and defensive discipline.
Nigeria’s Flamingos have emerged champions of the 2026 WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup after defeating Togo 4-0 in the final in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire.
The Flamingos completed a perfect campaign, winning all five matches without a defeat to seal the title in dominant fashion.
Captain Chidera Harmony was the standout performer in the final, scoring twice from the penalty spot to give Nigeria a comfortable lead before half-time.
Harmony opened the scoring in the 15th minute after converting a penalty before adding her second from another spot-kick 20 minutes later.
Nigeria went into the break with a 2-0 lead and continued to control proceedings after the restart.
Oluebube Umejiaku extended the Flamingos’ advantage in the 67th minute before Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the scoring in the 90th minute.

The title also provides a major boost for coach Hakeem Busari and his players as they continue preparations for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco next month.
The Flamingos, bronze medallists at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, will now turn their attention to the global tournament.
