Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc (FMN), one of Nigeria’s leading food and agro-allied companies, has opened applications for qualified candidates to fill four positions across different locations in the country.

The company, which is behind popular brands such as Golden Penny Flour, Golden Penny Semovita, Goldenvita, Golden Pasta and Golden Noodles, said the available opportunities cut across health, safety and environment, sales and trade development, as well as fleet operations.

FMN said its flagship Golden Penny brand remains one of its major consumer brands, with products widely used by bakers, confectioneries and households across Nigeria.

1. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Assistant

Location: Agbara, Ogun

FMN is seeking an HSE Assistant to support the implementation of health, safety and environmental programmes at its site.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives across the site.
• Conduct routine HSE inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and fire risks.
• Escalate identified issues for corrective action.
• Assist in monitoring fire protection equipment, safety tools and environmental compliance equipment.
• Support waste segregation, handling and disposal activities.
• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Report cases of non-compliance.
• Assist in coordinating pest control activities.
• Maintain relevant pest control records and follow up with service providers.
• Educate employees on safe work practices, housekeeping standards and site rules.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Five O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English.
• At least two years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in HSE, manufacturing, construction or industrial environments will be an added advantage.
• Basic training in Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Safety, First Aid or related HSE programmes will also be an advantage.

2. Assistant Manager, Trade Development – Oil, Fats & Cereal Products Category (West)

Location: Nigeria

FMN is also recruiting an Assistant Manager, Trade Development, to oversee trade development for its Oil, Fats and Cereal Products category in the West.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales performance, strengthening distributor partnerships, expanding market penetration and supporting revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

The role includes:

• Managing multiple Key Distributors (KDs).
• Driving sales volume and value targets.
• Developing market expansion strategies across assigned territories.
• Leading direct-to-retail redistribution activities.
• Coordinating van sales and open-market sales teams.
• Ensuring compliance with route-planning Standard Operating Procedures.
• Optimising the use of sales automation tools.
• Expanding territory coverage through sub-distributor networks.
• Coaching and mentoring Sales Development Officers and field teams.
• Developing Joint Business Plans with Key Distributors.
• Monitoring competitor activities and category trends.
• Providing strategic recommendations to support category growth.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• At least five years of sales experience in FMCG.
• Experience in redistribution sales is preferred.
• Experience managing edible oils, fats, cereals or related food categories is highly preferred.
• Experience managing large Key Distributor networks and driving category growth.

• Proven experience managing large Key Distributor networks.

FMN also requires mandatory FMCG experience specifically within the Oil, Fats and Cereal Products category.

4. Fleet Supervisor

Location: Nigeria

FMN is seeking a Fleet Supervisor to provide supervisory oversight of its daily fleet operations.

The successful candidate will supervise drivers, coordinate truck dispatch and recovery activities, ensure compliance with safety standards and liaise with the workshop team on vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

The Fleet Supervisor will:

• Supervise daily operations of assigned trucks and drivers.
• Ensure efficient fleet utilisation.
• Conduct inventory checks on assigned trucks.
• Coordinate the dispatch of operational vehicles.
• Facilitate the movement of non-operational trucks to the workshop.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
• Coordinate truck handovers.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle accessories and assets.
• Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor on maintenance and repairs.
• Report and document accidents, breakdowns and road incidents.
• Coordinate truck recovery after accidents or breakdowns.
• Monitor driver performance.
• Enforce disciplinary and compliance measures where necessary.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of National Diploma (ND) in any discipline.
• At least two years of relevant experience in fleet operations, transportation, logistics or a related field.
• Experience supervising drivers and coordinating fleet activities is an added advantage.

• Ability to manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
