Gov Kefas visits Tinubu in Aso Rock behind closed doors
Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, on Monday visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Kefas arrived at the State House in the company of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, before heading into a private meeting with the President.
This is Governor Kefas’ first official visit to President Tinubu since he left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the APC.
It will be recalled that Kefas was scheduled to be formally received into the APC on November 19, but he put the event on hold, noting that it would be insensitive to hold a celebration while Kebbi State was mourning the abduction of schoolgirls in Maga.
A few days earlier, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly and 15 lawmakers defected from the PDP to the APC, citing the need to align with the centre and the crisis in the opposition party at the national level.
As of the time of filing this report, details of the meeting are yet to be released.
