Gov Makinde appoints Anthony Ehilebo as media adviser
The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication.
The appointment was announced on Thursday by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Olarenwaju said the appointment takes immediate effect, adding that more members of Makinde’s campaign team would be announced in the coming days.
Ehilebo is expected to play a key role in managing Makinde’s media activities and digital communication as the governor continues preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
Makinde said Ehilebo’s expertise as a communication strategist and lawyer would be a powerful asset in driving the APM’s message of resetting Nigeria and securing victory in the 2027 presidential election.
He urged Nigerians to stand firm and rally behind the APM, emphasising that the 2027 election was a historic opportunity to rescue Nigeria from what he described as the failed leadership of the All Progressives Congress.
“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde affirmed.
Very Nigerian reports that Makinde, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, formally joined the presidential race for 2027 under an alliance involving the Peoples Democratic Party and APM.
In his declaration speech delivered at a rally held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, and witnessed by a mammoth crowd, Makinde said, “Today, I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP/APM alliance.
