JUST-IN: CBN adjusts corridor but keeps Interest Rate at 27%
The monetary policy committee of the Central Bank of Nigeria has again maintained the monetary policy rate at 27 percent.
CBN governor Olayemi Cardoso made the announcement during a news conference on Tuesday at the committee’s 303rd meeting in Abuja.
The MPR is the benchmark interest rate that guides all other lending rates in the country.
This marks the fourth consecutive time the MPC is keeping the rate unchanged, after similar decisions in February, May, and July.
The decision comes shortly after Nigeria’s inflation rate eased to 16.05 percent in October 2025.
Speaking during the briefing, Cardoso said the committee voted to retain the MPR at 27 percent and adjust the asymmetric corridor to +50 and -450 basis points around the rate.
