Man City file appeal against Premier League verdict
Manchester City said it would continue to respect due process but added that it is restricted in what it can say publicly while the proceedings remain ongoing.
Manchester City have formally appealed the Premier League Commission’s opinion in the club’s disciplinary case.
The club confirmed that it filed its comprehensive appeal at 7pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, challenging the Commission’s opinion on several grounds.
In a statement published on its official website on Friday, City argued that the opinion contained “clear material errors, of law, principle and fact”.
The Premier League club also described the Commission’s opinion as unsafe and said it had formally challenged the findings through the appeal process.
The club also reiterated its position that it is innocent of the accusations made by the Premier League, claiming that a comprehensive body of evidence supports its case.

The appeal will now form part of the next stage of the disciplinary process, with the final outcome still to be determined.
