Men go through a lot in silence, many die with it, i wont die because of a woman — Frank Edoho
Popular Nigerian television host, Frank Edoho, has spoken candidly about his personal fears, saying he does not want to die as a result of emotional pain caused by a woman.
Edoho made the revelation during an interview on the YouTube programme Outside The Box, where he reflected on vulnerability, masculinity, and the hidden struggles many men face.
“I don’t want to go to the gates of heaven and they ask me what killed me and they say it’s a woman. Whether that woman be my daughter, my wife, my mother, I don’t want that,” he said.
The broadcaster, best known for hosting the Nigerian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, said his goal is to leave behind a legacy of kindness and positive impact on those he encountered during his lifetime.
“I want to die with a smile on my face saying that all the people I met, I tried to put a smile on their face,” he added.
Edoho also highlighted the emotional burden many men silently carry, noting that societal expectations often discourage them from speaking about their struggles.
“The task of manhood is very daunting. Men don’t speak. Men go through a lot… some of them go to the grave with it,” he said.
He further revealed that he once went through a difficult emotional phase that lasted about two years, during which he kept his struggles private while continuing his professional duties in broadcasting.
According to him, his experience in live television taught him how to maintain composure even in personal distress, though he admitted that coping in real life is far more difficult.
Edoho’s remarks have since sparked conversations online about mental health, emotional expression, and the pressure placed on men to remain silent in difficult times.
