Nigerian youths are restless, unready to accept excuses; they will vote me out if I fail — Tinubu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged the rising political influence of Nigerian youths, stating that they will not hesitate to vote his administration out of office if it fails to deliver meaningful results.
Tinubu said the younger generation is becoming increasingly politically conscious, digitally informed, and less tolerant of poor governance, stressing that leaders must now be more accountable than ever.
He noted that issues such as job creation, education, innovation, and youth empowerment remain central to his administration’s priorities, describing young Nigerians as the “hope” and future of the country.
According to him, the growing awareness among youths reflects a shift in Nigeria’s democratic culture, where citizens are more willing to hold leaders accountable through the ballot.
The President’s remarks come amid heightened political conversations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with analysts noting that Nigeria’s large youth population is likely to play a decisive role in the outcome.
Tinubu has consistently urged young Nigerians to participate actively in governance, entrepreneurship, technology, and national development as part of efforts to build a more inclusive economy.
His comments have since triggered widespread reactions across social and political circles, with many Nigerians debating government performance and the increasing electoral power of young voters ahead of 2027.
