One Injured as gunmen ambush Police patrol in Anambra, set vehicle on fire
A police patrol team came under attack by gunmen in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, with one patrol vehicle set on fire, the state police command has confirmed.
According to the police, the officers were on routine patrol when armed assailants opened fire. A confrontation ensued, leading to the torching of the vehicle. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, as the officers were able to repel the attackers.
The command announced that an investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. Security forces have also intensified patrols in vulnerable communities across the state to prevent similar attacks.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to local authorities to aid in the ongoing efforts to restore and maintain public safety.
