BREAKING: Bandits launch fresh attack on Niger communities, abduct Pregnant Woman, 24 others
Bandits have carried out another round of violent attacks in Niger State, kidnapping 24 residents, including a pregnant woman, and mutilating a blind man in separate incidents within the same local government area.
The latest assault took place on Wednesday in Palaita community, Erena Local Government Area, where armed men invaded a farmland as labourers were harvesting crops.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers surrounded the workers and marched them into the forest. A pregnant woman was among those abducted.
In a separate raid also within Erena LGA, the criminals reportedly amputated the arm of a blind man after he was said to have failed to “cooperate” with their demands.
The renewed violence has sparked fear across nearby communities, with residents appealing to the state and federal authorities for swift action to prevent further attacks and restore security in the area.
