Remi Tinubu engages religious leaders at Lambeth Palace during UK visit
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday addressed a gathering at Lambeth Palace in central London as part of activities marking President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, hosted the engagement, which brought together prominent religious leaders and representatives of the Church of England.
During the visit, Mrs Tinubu interacted with faith leaders and held discussions with key church figures, including Bishop Rose Hudson-Wilkin, the Bishop of Dover, and Bishop Emma Ineson, the acting Bishop of London.
The engagement underscores the role of faith-based diplomacy and cultural exchange in strengthening ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Earlier, President Tinubu and the First Lady were received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle, where they were welcomed with full state honours.
They were also received by the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Catherine, who accompanied them during part of the ceremonial engagements.
A state banquet was later hosted by King Charles in honour of the Nigerian leader and his wife, highlighting the deepening relationship between both countries.

Nigeria and the United Kingdom maintain longstanding ties across trade, development assistance, and defence cooperation, with London also serving as home to a large Nigerian diaspora community.
