Rivers: Four PDP lawmakers decamp to APC
Four members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State have formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The move comes barely one week after Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, joined the ruling party, marking another major shift in the state’s political alignment.
The lawmakers who crossed over are Manuchim Umezuruike, representing Port Harcourt I Federal Constituency; Boniface Emerengwa of Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency; Awake-Inombek Abiante, who represents Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency; and Boma Goodhead, the lawmaker for Asari-Toru Federal Constituency.
The development emphasizes a growing realignment among Rivers State political actors following recent shifts at the state level.
