Suswam joins APC hours after dumping PDP
Suswam marked his first official activity in the APC with a ward-level registration.
Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), barely 24 hours after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Suswam completed his defection on Wednesday by registering as a member of the APC at his Mbagber Council Ward in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The registration marked his first official activity within the ruling party, signalling a swift political realignment following his exit from the PDP.
Very Nigerian reports that the former governor announced his resignation from the PDP on Tuesday, citing the protracted internal crisis plaguing the opposition party.
In his resignation letter, Suswam blamed the party’s inability to resolve its long-standing internal disputes, describing the situation as detrimental to unity and effective opposition politics.
His move to the APC further reshapes the political landscape in Benue State and adds to the growing list of prominent politicians defecting ahead of future electoral contests.
