Tinubu mourns Bayelsa Deputy Gov, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo
President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the government and people of Bayelsa State over the death of the Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
In a condolence message, the President extended his sympathies to the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, as well as to the wife of the late deputy governor, Barrister Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo, his children, friends and associates.
President Tinubu described the late Ewhrudjakpo as a diligent and selfless public servant whose contributions to Bayelsa State and the nation would be long remembered. He recalled that the deceased served the state with distinction as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure before his election as Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District.
The President noted that Ewhrudjakpo played a key role in the development of infrastructure in Bayelsa State and also contributed meaningfully to lawmaking and policy formulation during his time at the National Assembly.
He urged the government and people of the state to preserve the legacy of service and patriotism left behind by the late deputy governor.
President Tinubu prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and asked God to grant comfort and strength to the bereaved family and the people of Bayelsa State at this difficult time.
