Ugandan opposition leader, Bobi Wine narrowly escapes house arrest
Ugandan opposition leader and musician-turned-politician, Bobi Wine, has said he narrowly escaped a police raid on his home on Friday night and is now being hunted by security agents.
In a statement on Saturday, Bobi Wine alleged that security forces surrounded his residence in an attempt to arrest him, forcing him to flee. He claimed that since the incident, operatives have continued to search for him, making it unsafe for him to return home.
“I want to confirm that I managed to escape from them. Currently, I am not at home, although my wife and other family members remain under house arrest. I know that these criminals are looking for me everywhere, and I am trying my best to keep safe,” he wrote in a post on X.
