Zulum hosts five North-East governors for key regional meeting in Maiduguri
The Governors are expected to discuss a range of issues affecting the sub-region, including strengthening good governance, promoting peaceful coexistence
Borno State Governor and Chairman of the North-East Governors’ Forum, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, is hosting governors from the region for the forum’s 13th regular meeting in Maiduguri.
The meeting has brought together Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Kefas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni.
Other distinguished guests are also attending the meeting in Maiduguri.
Babagana Umara Zulum, in a statement, said, “On behalf of the Government and the good people of Borno State, I warmly welcome my brother Governors of the subregion and our distinguished guests to Maiduguri for the 13th regular meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum.”
The two-day meeting begins today, Friday, October 2, and ends on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Maiduguri.
The Governors are expected to discuss a range of issues affecting the sub-region, including strengthening good governance, promoting peaceful coexistence, improving security and the socioeconomic well-being of the people of the North East.
The North East Governors’ Forum is a platform for regional cooperation, joint policy action and coordinated development across Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.
