2027: Obi is a ‘packaged fraud’, he’s secretly working for Atiku, positioning himself to become SGF – Sowere alleges
African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused former Anambra State governor Peter Obi of secretly directing his supporters to work for former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement, Sowore alleged that Obi and his supporters were opposed to what he described as the AAC’s “revolutionary mandate”.
“If you haven’t noticed, the packaged fraud, Mr. Peter Obi is secretly directing his supporters to work for @Atiku Abubakar because they are opposed to our revolutionary mandate. Obi is positioning himself to become Atiku’s SGF,” Sowore said.
The allegation comes amid political realignments among opposition figures ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Atiku is the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), while Obi is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Obi and Atiku were previously part of an opposition coalition formed under the ADC, but the arrangement later broke down, with the two politicians emerging as candidates of different parties. Obi has said that any future alliance would require discussions between the parties involved, rather than a decision made by the candidates alone.
Sowore’s claim that Obi is secretly directing supporters to work for Atiku and seeking the position of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) remains an allegation. No supporting evidence was provided in the statement quoted above.
