A teacher abducted during the recent attack on Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has reportedly been killed by his captors.

The victim, identified as Michael Oyedokun, was among teachers, students and the school principal kidnapped by gunmen who invaded the school on Friday, May 15, 2026.

The attack occurred weeks after a failed kidnap attempt along the Ibadan-Ijebu road which reportedly claimed the life of a traveller, further deepening concerns over rising insecurity in parts of Oyo State and across the country.

According to reports, the gunmen released a disturbing video on Sunday allegedly showing the beheading of Oyedokun.

The development has sparked outrage and fear within the community, with residents and families of the victims calling on security agencies and the Oyo State Government to intensify efforts toward rescuing those still in captivity.

The incident has thrown the Ahoro-Esinle community into mourning as many residents expressed fears over the safety of the remaining abducted victims.

Community members and concerned Nigerians have continued to urge authorities to act swiftly to prevent further loss of lives.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies and the Oyo State Government were yet to officially confirm the reported killing.
