Nigeria vs Portugal clash: Date, time, where to stream

The Super Eagles will wrap up their June international window with a high-profile friendly against Portugal as head coach Eric Chelle continues preparations for upcoming competitions.

Nigeria head into the encounter on the back of an impressive unbeaten run, recording victories over Zimbabwe and Jamaica before playing out a 2-2 draw with Poland in Warsaw.

The friendly will provide another stern test for Chelle’s side against one of Europe’s top teams, with Portugal boasting stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva.

Unlike Portugal, who are using the match as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Nigeria are continuing their rebuilding process after failing to qualify for the tournament.

The fixture also offers the Super Eagles an opportunity to gain revenge for their only previous meeting with Portugal, a 4-0 defeat in Lisbon in November 2022.

Nigeria will, however, be without some key players. Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman have both been excused from the squad, while Unity Cup hero Femi Azeez is also unavailable after picking up an injury.

Despite those absences, Chelle still has experienced stars including Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon available for selection.

Portugal, meanwhile, are expected to field a star-studded squad featuring Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Dias, Vitinha, Bernardo Silva and Nuno Mendes as Roberto Martinez fine-tunes his team ahead of the World Cup.

Date, time and venue

The international friendly between Portugal and Nigeria will be played on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

The match will take place at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria, Portugal.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. Nigerian time (WAT).

Football fans in Nigeria can watch the match live on NFF TV and SuperSport via DStv and GOtv platforms.

Watch on DSTV Channel 254.

The game will also be available through official online streaming services, including the NFF TV YouTube channel.

A positive result against Portugal would further boost confidence within the Super Eagles camp ahead of upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other international assignments under Chelle.
