First Bank Nigeria opens applications for business analyst, product control officer positions (How To Apply)

Available Positions

1. Business Analyst

  • Job ID: 1725

  • Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

  • Support the Finance Business Partner in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis and trend reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reports.
  • Gather, validate and document financial and operational data.
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Build financial models and business cases for strategic initiatives.
  • Support financial review meetings and management presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Finance, IT, Risk and other departments to improve business processes.
  • Generate management scorecards and customer profitability reports.
  • Cascade business unit budgets to teams and relationship managers.
  • Facilitate performance review sessions and staff enlightenment on performance initiatives.
  • Protect the confidentiality and security of entrusted information.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Science or Engineering.
  • Master’s Degree or professional certification such as ACA, CIBN or related qualifications will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of six years’ relevant experience in Finance, MIS, Budgeting, Forecasting or Financial Analysis.
  • Experience in Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SQL and analytical tools.
  • Good understanding of finance and accounting processes.

2. Product Control Officer

  • Location: Nigeria
  • Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

  • Perform daily reconciliation of Treasury application balances with Core Banking balances.
  • Review Treasury suspense accounts.
  • Validate Treasury product positions including Fixed Income Securities, Foreign Exchange, Placements, Takings and Derivatives.
  • Review receivables, payables and contingent accounts.
  • Investigate reconciliation differences and escalate unresolved issues.
  • Perform General Ledger and Treasury blotter reconciliations.
  • Prepare daily Treasury Profit and Loss reports.
  • Validate Fixed Income Securities and pledges across S4, CSCS, FMDQ and other depositories.
  • Monitor compliance with Product Control Framework and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor Treasury suspense accounts to ensure only genuine unsettled transactions remain outstanding.
  • Support accounting rule configuration and product setup.
  • Provide analytical support for financial and management reporting.
  • Drive process improvements across Treasury operations.
  • Support internal, external and regulatory audits relating to Treasury activities.

Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics or any related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA or CFA will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in Treasury Product Control or a similar role.
