Osun Election: Atiku, ADC leaders storm Osogbo for campaign finale

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, on Monday led a delegation of party leaders and political associates to Osogbo, the Osun State capital, to campaign for the party’s governorship candidate, Dr Najeem Folasayo Salaam.

The visit was part of efforts by the ADC to strengthen support for Salaam ahead of the Osun State governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is scheduled to conduct the election on Saturday.

The ADC held its grand finale campaign rally in Osogbo, drawing a large crowd of supporters who expressed confidence that Salaam would emerge victorious in the election.

Atiku and other party leaders used the occasion to appeal to voters to support the ADC candidate as the party made its final push ahead of the poll.

Atiku who posted photos of the campaign on his official X handle shortly after the event, appealed to eligible voters in the state to trust the ADC.

He said, “We are here to rally support for our candidate and make a final appeal to the people of Osun State to entrust the ADC with the responsibility of delivering purposeful leadership, good governance and a better future for all”.

However, Very Nigerian reports that Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party and Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC are the major contenders.
