Oyo governorship: INEC clears Adegoke as ADC candidate
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed Adegboyega Taofeek Adegoke as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State.
INEC published Adegoke’s Form EC9, along with the forms of other governorship candidates, on its official website in the early hours of Saturday.
Adegoke will contest the governorship election scheduled to take place in Oyo State and 27 other states across Nigeria.
Our correspondent reports that with the display of Adegoke’s name, the controversy surrounding the authentic gubernatorial candidate of the ADC in the state has been put to rest.
Adegoke, in his reaction, advised all aggrieved aspirants to cooperate with him in order to win the election.
He said, “We, therefore, urge all other aspirants and their supporters to desist forthwith from any further misrepresentations and to respect the decision of the party and the position of INEC.
“We call on our members, supporters and the good people of Oyo State to remain calm, united and focused as we mobilise ahead of the elections.”
