The Benue State Police Command has arrested 46 suspects in connection with the attack on the convoy of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, disclosed this on Wednesday, adding that investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
He said the police are also tracking key leaders of the youths allegedly involved in the attack.
Nwadiogbu warned that the command would not tolerate political intolerance or violence in the state as the 2027 general election approaches.
The commissioner said the command would continue to take necessary steps to identify all those involved and ensure that anyone found culpable faces the law.
