Security Dialogue: U.S. Congressional team visits Ribadu in Abuja
National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, on Sunday received a delegation from the United States Congress at his office in Abuja, marking a follow-up to high-level security discussions held in Washington last month.
The delegation, made up of senior members of the U.S. House of Representatives, included Mario Díaz-Balart, Norma Torres, Scott Franklin, Juan Ciscomani and Riley Moore.
Ribadu said Nigeria remains committed to strengthening its longstanding defence and security partnership with the United States, particularly in counter-terrorism operations, regional security and broader strategic cooperation.
The NSA noted that the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, underscored the importance both countries attach to the dialogue.
“Our discussions focused on counter-terrorism cooperation, regional stability, and strengthening the Nigeria–U.S. strategic security partnership,” Ribadu said.
“I’m optimistic that this engagement will deepen trust, collaboration, and our shared commitment to peace and security.”
