Elon Musk’s fortune soars to $638B, puts him far ahead of rivals
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and founder of xAI, has become the first person in history to reach a net worth of $638 billion, according to data from Bloomberg’s Billionaire Index (BBI).
The South African-born American billionaire’s wealth surged by 42.7 percent within the past year, creating a significant gap between him and other global billionaires.
Musk’s new net worth is 140.75 percent higher than that of Larry Page, who ranks second at $265 billion. Sergey Brin and Jeff Bezos follow at $246 billion and $238 billion, respectively, while Mark Zuckerberg and Bernard Arnault round out the top seven with $229 billion and $202 billion. Other notable billionaires in the top ten include Steve Ballmer ($166 billion), Jensen Huang ($153 billion), and Warren Buffett ($152 billion).
In December 2024, Musk overtook Jeff Bezos to surpass $400 billion for the first time, marking a historic milestone in wealth accumulation.
Musk, who also recently announced the launch of Grokipedia, an online encyclopedia expected to rival Wikipedia, continues to expand his influence beyond Tesla, pioneering in artificial intelligence through his company xAI.
The record-setting valuation underscores Musk’s dominance in global business and technology sectors, solidifying his position as the world’s wealthiest individual by a wide margin.
