APC Convention: FG orders Civil Servants to work from home

Published

on

The Federal Government has directed civil servants working at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work remotely on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The directive was contained in a circular signed by Abdul Garba, Permanent Secretary of the Service Welfare Office, on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

According to the notice, all access roads leading to the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phases I, II and III, will be closed from Friday, March 27, through Saturday, March 28, due to activities surrounding the convention at Eagle Square.

The government explained that the road closures were necessary to ensure smooth conduct of the event, which is expected to attract party leaders and delegates from across the country.

As a result, workers in ministries, extra-ministerial departments, agencies and offices located within the affected areas, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been instructed to stay off-site and work from home for the day.

The circular further directed all permanent secretaries and heads of agencies to ensure that the information is communicated to staff and that full compliance is maintained.
