APC releases 2027 timetable, pegs presidential form at ₦100m, governorship ₦50m

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its official timetable for the 2027 general election primaries, fixing the cost of nomination forms at between ₦6 million and ₦100 million, depending on the office being contested.

According to the schedule, the sale of nomination forms will take place at the APC National Secretariat from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2, 2026.

The party also announced the dates for its primaries across various elective positions, beginning with the presidential primary scheduled for Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Other primary election dates include the House of Representatives on Monday, May 18; the Senate on Wednesday, May 20; State House of Assembly on Thursday, May 21; and governorship on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

The APC fixed the total cost of forms as follows: House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦6 million, House of Representatives ₦10 million, Senate ₦20 million, governorship ₦50 million, and presidential aspirants ₦100 million.

The development sets the stage for what is expected to be a highly competitive internal contest within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
