Bomb explosion hits Kwara community, kills many
A suspected bomb explosion shook Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, reportedly killing several people.
A source who spoke to Very Nigerian said a driver named Zuberu was among those affected.
The source added that a woman was also injured and has been rushed to Ilorin following instructions from the Kaiama LGA council chairman.
Efforts to contact Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the public relations officer of the Kwara State Police Command, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion, although residents suspect the IED may have been detonated by members of Boko Haram.
Last month, no fewer than 75 residents were killed and several houses set ablaze when suspected terrorists attacked the Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama LGA.
Following the deadly attack, President Bola Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion in the area.
