BREAKING: ADC factional leader Nafui Bala regrets action, moves to withdraw case against ADC
Fresh pressure is mounting on Hon. Nafi’u Bala, a factional leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to withdraw the lawsuit he filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja on April 4, 2026, as elders and family members intensify efforts to resolve the party’s lingering crisis.
Sources familiar with the development said a series of consultations have been held in Gombe State, involving community elders and close relatives of the embattled politician, in a bid to de-escalate tensions surrounding the legal dispute.
A delegation reportedly led by Alhaji Abubakar Musa Garba visited Bala’s family residence, where they met with his parents, including his mother, Hajiya Saude, urging that the case be withdrawn in the interest of peace and political stability.
The move, insiders say, is part of a broader reconciliation effort aimed at preventing further fragmentation within the ADC, which has been grappling with internal disputes and leadership tussles in recent weeks.
Attempts were reportedly made to reach Bala during the meeting via telephone, but he was said to be unreachable at the time.
However, a family member confirmed that efforts are ongoing to contact him and formally convey the outcome of the discussions and the appeal made by the elders.
Observers note that the outcome of these interventions could play a significant role in shaping the future of the party’s legal battle and its internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 elections.
