Brighton beat Chelsea, Newcastle to sign Nigerian wonder kid Yohanna
Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna has completed a permanent transfer to Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, signing a five-year contract with the English side.
Yohanna joins the Seagulls from Swedish club AIK, with Brighton reportedly beating competition from Newcastle United and Chelsea to secure his signature.
The 18-year-old winger has attracted attention for his rapid rise in European football, particularly after an impressive spell in Sweden this season.
Before sealing the move, Yohanna scored two goals and provided three assists in just seven league appearances for AIK, underlining his attacking output and growing reputation.
He initially moved to the Swedish club from Ikon Allah Academy last year before his development accelerated quickly enough to earn a Premier League transfer.
Brighton are understood to view the youngster as a long-term investment as they continue their strategy of recruiting and developing emerging talents from across the world.
