DisCos record N205.53bn electricity revenue in July – NERC
The report showed that the DisCos recorded a collection rate of about 82 per cent during the month
Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) in Nigeria collected ₦205.53 billion out of the ₦250.79 billion billed to customers in July, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
NERC disclosed this in its latest Commercial Performance Factsheet released on its X handle in Abuja on Friday.
The report showed that the DisCos recorded a collection rate of about 82 per cent during the month, leaving more than ₦45 billion in billed revenue uncollected.
NERC also reported that the DisCos received electricity valued at ₦333.94 billion during July.
It said that out of the N333.94 energy received, N250.79 billion was billed customers out of which N205, 53 billion was collected.
The report said that Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKDC) led the revenue collection with 94.67 per cent followed by Port Harcourt DisCo with 84.95 per cent, while Benin DisCo came third with 79.15 per cent
It also said that Kaduna DisCo recorded the lowest recovery efficiency at 39.71 per cent, followed by Jos DisCo at 46.27 per cent while Kano recorded 55.41 per cent.
