EPL: Arsenal fall at the death as Aston Villa claim 2-1 victory

Emiliano Buendia stunned Arsenal and brought an end to their impressive 18-match unbeaten run after scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner that handed Aston Villa a 2-1 victory on Saturday.

Arsenal, who arrived at Villa Park as Premier League leaders, went behind early when Matty Cash finished off a well-worked move in the first half.

Mikel Arteta’s men rallied after the break, with Leandro Trossard coming off the bench to level the score and keep the Gunners in the contest.

The encounter was fast-paced and end-to-end, with both sides missing clear chances.

But just when it seemed the points would be shared, Arsenal’s defence switched off at a crucial moment, allowing Buendia to pounce and slot home the winner with virtually the last kick of the match.
